The briefing is not “do we need a CAIO.”
It is which seat owns the AI decision.
That is a thesis. It is a buyer argument. It is not proof that anyone in DACH types “decision architecture leadership.” The phrase is the argument, not the query.
The market already splits the seats. CDO for data. CAIO for AI value and governance. CTO for the stack. A common split. Not a statute.
Treat the three titles as one job and you buy a collision. Collaboration means data, the model, and the run-time have different owners. Not three badges on one back.
In German, CDO is a homonym. Chief Data Officer is not Chief Digital Officer. If a brief does not name which one, the compare is already wrong.
Many houses do not need a new C-title. They need a written mandate on the CIO or CDO already in the building. A page that only sells “you need a CAIO” is job news. This is not that page.
The existing German hiring guide stays the search how-to. This hub does not rerun a search. It names who owns the call.
68 percent say AI adoption slowed because decision rights and escalation were unclear (IBM IBV, Where AI breaks). A different study from the CEO study.
Do not mix with IBM CEO Study 25 percent to 48 percent by 2030. That is a different study. An expectation about codifiable operational decisions. Not used as a second number here.
When intelligence gets cheap, the scarce thing is who may decide. That is decision architecture as an argument. It is not evidence that buyers search the phrase.
Volume on this pair: unknown. Whether the category creates DACH retainers: unknown. Whether anyone types “decision architecture”: unknown. This page does not claim a market.
You are not buying a third synonym for the CTO.
You are buying a clean split: which seat may close the routine, and which seat takes the exception.
The product of executive search on this page is the person allowed to own the AI decision. Not a faster list. Not a prettier title.
Put CAIO, CDO, and CTO in one posting and you have not split the seats. You are hiring one person for three ownership problems.
